A beautifully well-written account of Queen Victoria’s time between her ascent to the British throne and her engagement to Prince Albert. While much more focused on the personal relationships of the characters than any true historical events or political intrigue, it was nevertheless an insightful look at Britain’s second-longest reigning female monarch in her younger years.
