Life Sucks by Jessica Abel, Gabe Soria

I read this graphic novel cause I was looking for some new vampire content. Honestly, it was disappointing. Although it started as a different take on teen vampires and ancient vampire types, it didn't really keep the mood up with originality enough to keep me reading continuously. Sure, it does go for "a vampire who is just a basic teen dude has a classic teen movie moment" story but unfortunately, it is too "teen guy" to have any connection with the main character. And that made it hard for me to keep up with it. Because no matter how hard you try to feel for the character in some way to want him to win, he just shows how much of a basic teen he is. Another aspect that made the reading experience cold for me was the art style. It felt a little too plain and a little messy for my taste. Some profiles were drawn a tad awkward, which might be an intentional choice cause it is through the lens of an awkward teen but it was a dealbreaker for me. I DNFd it a few times but decided to finish it to see where it goes cause I had a little too much time on my hands. Well, it surely is something that I will forget about in a month or so.
