This book is filled with a twisted and mysterious plot, a unique magic system (which I loved how it was portrayed) and characters I have mixed feelings about. For me, this book is definitely snarkier than the author’s latest works, especially when it comes to the romance. I saw a lot of depth in the romantic aspect, with elements like yearning and other things that made it stand out more. But don’t worry, the plot itself delivered just as I expected, from the writing to every bit of its development. I saw glimpses of growth in some of the characters, but the one that really stood out was the female main lead. Her development throughout the story was well done, and I really liked how different she became. Oh, and Bartholomew!! the prideful gargoyle, he’s my favorite character so far!! everything about his unraveling gave me such big anticipation.
Overall, this is good, I mean sooo good. Sure, some parts were just okay, but I’m definitely waiting for book 2!!
