To say that The Jasad Heir had me hooked on day 1 until the end is not an exaggeration. It was one of my anticipated books of the year, and I was not disappointed at the execution of the story. For a debut author, Sara Hashem showed great depth in not only her worldbuilding but also in her characters and character motivations. It wasn't perfect by any means; I'm sure there's something to be said about the odd pacing between the trials and the training, and I'm sure the book could have given us a bit more breathing room with all the crazy events happening one after the other.
Personally, I found it well-paced, and the characters had me absolutely smitten. The fact that Sylvia and Arin are the very definition of what I am looking for in actual enemies-to-lovers helped a tremendous deal. But my gawd, the development and the return was worth every slow burn in the world. Arin, my GAWD, boy had me shaking in my boots AND fanning myself at the same time. And props to Sylvia for being badass through and through.
This book will stay with me for a while. And I might be in danger of a book hangover.
