Spare by Prince Harry

reflective slow-paced

4.25

The equivalent of the ending in 8 Mile, in Spare, Prince Harry lays out everything he can from his point of view so that nothing can be used against him any more. An admittedly imperfect narrator I found his reflections and recollections poignant and also lacking at times. But most of all I left the book with a different vision of what we think is permissible as a result of and due to celebrity culture. Most of all Prince Harry did what I think is the most compelling part of the memoir process which is tell the story even if imperfectly from your own words. I have always found that the compelling part of biography and especially in this case after knowing him through the words of others for so long.
