The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole
3.75

Genuinely one of the most bizarre books I've ever read. Really fast paced and random supernatural events happen sporadically throughout, and while I think the ending was quite anticlimactic, I did enjoy the story. The tone was far less serious than I was expecting - moments are actually quite funny. There are quite a lot of shakespearean character tropes in it too which was interesting. Is it the best book ever? No. Is it worth reading? Yes.
