I LOVE this as a YA novel, but it was a little too on the nose for me to enjoy it as an adult horror novel. The exposition dumps might be necessary for younger readers, but I felt that they spoiled the mystery early on. I would have loved a queer, naturey horror mystery as a young person, so I'm rating this to reflect that.
