First Impressions
Broken Crown is the finale in the "Mafia Royals" and I can't believe that I have completed this series and I am not ready for this world to be over. Thank goodness I can do the previous series "Elite" if I feel the need to. Broken Crown was unlike anything that I expected, if I am being honest. I didn't see this plot, the love triangle or the epic finale that it turned out to be. It was just about everything I could have hoped for and more. It had me in my feels from beginning to end. This wasn't the easiest book of the series to read and there will be plot dynamics that might not work for everyone. However there were so many aspects to this story where it did work for me in all the right ways.

First Line
Sometimes I wonder.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: King Campisi
The Heroine: Del Buratti

Summary
This is a modern day retelling of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. This story takes us to King who is the heir to take over the mafia families. King is in a arranged marriage with Del Buratti, a woman who has his heart but unfortunately her heart is tied to her bodyguard. There has been animosity between their families and their marriage will bring a sense of unity and peace between the families. But King and Del have an agreement. He has one week to make her fall in love with him, and after that week its her choice the man she truly ends up with. But will Del find which man truly holds her heart and future?

What I Loved
The first is how the long triangle was handled in this one here. Normally I would despise a love triangle but there was such a way in which this was written that actually really worked for me. Now normally I don't like this equal three way angst between characters....but this is really a story about which man is right for Del not truly about which man she loves more. Because at the end of the day she loves them both deeply.....but only one is right for her and for the woman she is meant to become. We such such conflict that she faces within this one, but we also get POV's from the other love interests so you get to see the love that they feel for her and the heartache that happens seeing her with the other man. It see the ache and longing that they all feeling for each other and man it was so heartbreaking. But the way it evolved in the end was truly perfection. It fit right into the true essence of who these characters are. But what a tear jerker this turned out to be.....it always surprises me because in reality there is such slapstick manner in which this series has been written. So you don't expect to see those heart felt and heart breaking moments but when they do happen....this author delivers all the way!!!

What I Struggled With
The biggest thing and why this book isn't a five star read.....there was confusion on how King fell in love with Del. There felt like there was this big gap on how they werent from arranged marriage to him being bitterly in love with her. It felt like there was a big missing piece of the puzzle, if that had been answered, then this would easily be a five star read! Also another aspect was the change of POV. It could be confusing at times.

Narration
I really liked this narration for these books. Its not my favorite, but the tone and vibe conveyed by the narration fit the story super well. I just wish the heroine's voice in the male pov was way better cause sometimes it feels like a squeaky mouse lol

Overall View
Broken Crown was a brilliant addition that delivered from beginning to end. It had my heart captured, in essence its a heartbreaking and swoony story that delves into the capacity of love that the heart is meant to embrace and that sometimes....love finds you

Steam/Spice Explanations

Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.
