Schmutzige Geheimnisse by Brian Freeman
4.0
I'll say 4 stars, which is high praise on my scale. I also think, in my opinion, that Brian Freeman is my favorite author right now (sorry Michael Connelly). The first part of this book seemed pretty run of the mill. It was told in a solid form but the subject (serial rapist, stalked woman by someone from her past, yada, yada, yada...), but somewhere along the way the intensity ramped up, pulled me in, what's going on? Some main characters seemed in real jeopardy with life altering events and suspense and nobody writing today paints a better cinematic picture than this author. I think what also makes him exciting for me is that I'm so late in discovering him that I still have a lot of titles yet to discover and get caught up. Anyway, bravo! Highly recommend this and the first two titles in this series, the Frost Easton series, as well as several of the standalone novels too!
