I love the Wayward Sons series. Like so freaking much. And I was hella excited to get to dive deeper into Xavier’s psych and get to really see what makes him tick

Xavier is one of the troubled triplets who has his vices to try and cope with his traumas. I.e drugs, sex, putting himself in bad situations. Enter Ash, our forced into retirement FBI agent that Xavier has put his sights on. They get to go undercover for a mission and take their cover more seriously than intended. So they fuck and fall in love, but it’s absolutely wonderful, and becomes so much more.

I love the exploration of sexuality brought forth in this book. The discussions of they/them. What it means to the characters and displaying a representation of how it might play out in someone’s daily life. But also how it can affect and be handled by a loving partner. Serious kudos for how it was written and approached.

The only real thing I struggled with was in the beginning of the book Ash’s chronic leg injury is such a big deal, but then it kind of just isn’t?  Like after a certain point it isn’t really mentioned and so big the things they do I really would have thought the injury should have made a definite impact. But maybe I’m being picky.

Overall I highly recommend this, it’s top tier right up there with the other Sons. And of course Eveland knows how to write a sexy scene, and this is by no means lacking.
