I have mixed feelings about this book. I found the magic system in the world really cool and intriguing, but unfortunately, the book often switched to the past for multiple chapters, which I didn't particularly enjoy. These chapters provided necessary background information, but I felt they interrupted the flow of the story and detracted from the present-day plot.

However, I must admit that some of the plot twists that happened in the past were quite shocking and impactful, but I think that if these events had happened in the present-day plot, they would have had an even bigger impact on the story. Of course, this would require a different structure for the story, but I wouldn't have minded that.

The ending was kinda cool :)
