This was such a fantastic continuation of the series. The pacing and action was not only perfectly executed but such a refresher from the first novel. Vasya is such a vibrant character and I love her growth and perspective. We also get a great look into side characters from the first novel. The author writes complex relationships so well and they are always so compelling. I also love the angst being served by the romantic relationship in this. As the setting has changed, this book lacks some of the atmosphere of the first book, but the magic and world are still very interesting. The ending really fulfilled this book and I can't wait to see how the finale wraps up!
