I found this book shortly after finishing Song of Achilles, a book that made me realize I know nothing about Greek mythology, let alone Roman or Norse. This book is like an encyclopedia of knowledge. no I've never opened an encyclopedia. The moral here is this book does its intended job well, and Hamilton clearly knows her stuff. Though by the end I was mostly just traumatized by all of incest in these stories
