The Tales of Max Carrados by Ernest Bramah

5.0

I was pleasantly surprised by this. I had received it as a free gift from Audible (my husbands pleasure of getting to read books) at Christmas time so it had been sitting on my phone since then. I only downloaded it because I realised the amazing Stephen Fry was reading it and I absolutely adore his silky tone.

The book is separated into 2 stories. the first is 'The Coin of Dionysius' and we actually get to meet Max and the second is 'The Game Played in the Dark' which is really Maxs first proper mystery.

I loved both of the stories and really enjoyed the fact that they were proper Agatha Christie type mysteries. Someone likened them to Sherlock Holmes and they were very like it but strangely better.

If you like a proper who dunnit and a good old fashioned story then I highly recommend this, I really don't think you would be disappointed!
