Lair of Dreams
by Libba Bray
"This land is so full of dreams. I feel your longing. So much longing. Dream with me..."
So books from the 1920's and I, we don't get along well. They typically have really confusing lingo and deadpan jokes that it can be to get the actual sense of a scene in a book. But with Libba Bray's series, that is not an issue at all.
This series is just rich in the 1920's culture and America in a time of prohibition, speakeasys, and the dream of a new American way of life. But this series has that unique twist of the paranormal.
There is a cast of characters that are so easy to love. Henry, Theta, Evie and Sam, Jericho, Mabel, Isaac, and even Ling. Each has their own twist to add to the story and it's hard to put that story down. Don't let the size of this book scare you. Every page, every minute - it's well worth it.
