Storytelling at its finest. I didn’t merely read the pages of this book, I felt them. Beautifully written in a way that pulls you so far into the story, it’s as if you’re living alongside the characters.

In my experience, it takes rare talent to be able to craft a story about characters who are also writers and actually make the reader feel their words deeply, separate from the book itself. Rebecca Ross though, the woman took it to a level I never expected. Those letters Iris and Roman sent to each other? I want them engraved in my soul forever. Outstanding.

I could probably talk all day about the reasons I loved this story; how easy it is to read but in the best way possible, how the language is lyrical and emotional and just so damn beautiful I never wanted it to end. I could visualise everything so clearly in my head with little to no effort.

Towards the end of the book, as we were getting into the nitty gritty of the plot, there were moments I desperately wanted to keep reading but also couldn't force myself to look at the pages. I cried, I yelled, I'm pretty sure I even threw a pillow at one point.

Divine Rivals was everything I hoped it would be, and more.
