I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading these authors. I just fall in love with each of their new characters every time they release a new story (although obviously, none of them beat my favorites). Donovan and Kelly definitely made a place in my heart along with West and JT (among a few others. Yes my heart is thaaaaat big!)
I have to say that this one is quite different from the first. And thank God for that. Nobody wants exact copies of plots or characters, etc. What I meant by different is, first, that although we see this group of friends here quite often and they participate in several scenes, they are not part of the main axis of the story. Yes, there's the banter, the teasing, and even the support or help when the MCs need it, but nothing more. Second, the story doesn't focus on Astor University, but rather around the city and the different locations where the MCs work. We also don't see many club scenes or well, what we typically know these princes do on a daily basis. We also see that both Van and Kelly, despite being young, are quite mature.
Something else that's different, while the MCs have to overcome certain obstacles, there's not much of an angsty drama here. It's lighter, more focused on the chemistry between them and how they grow as a couple. And wow there is chemistry! Hot, explosive chemistry. The sexy scenes between them are really, really off the chart. Yes, Kelly is a porn star, so it was to be expected. But it's one thing to expect and another thing is for them to exceed that expectation. And they do it in spades!
But the good thing about that chemistry that they share, and that's instantaneous, is that it's not superficial. They connect from the first moment on a deep level and it's something that can be felt through the pages.
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that for me, it lacks that touch of anguish that I mentioned before. And maybe a little more naughty mess than this group of friends is capable of.
In short, an incredible, sexy, really, really hot, and very romantic story delivered by these also incredible authors.
I can't wait for the next one!
