Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice

5.0

This was deeply disturbing.

Because there wasn't just the uncertainty regarding the power outage, but then you also have to deal with the unpredictability and selfishness of mankind. It really added a lot of suspense and it put me seriously on edge.

Also, I know so many people point to "show not tell," but I think books where society breaks down and you learn pieces of information little by little make telling, not only work, but work really well.

Loved this and will be on the lookout for more books by Rice.
