I’ve been wanting to read I’ll Be Gone in the Dark for a while now and I’m so glad I finally got a chance to read it because this book is EXCELLENT. It’s sad because the author passed before the book was published AND before the Golden State Killer was captured, but she wrote such an amazing book that I think she would be PROUD just like her family is. This book chronicles what happened to the victims of the Golden State Killer in the late 70’s and early 80’s. It also goes through how DNA processing has evolved since then which ultimately led to the capture of this awful man. I think readers will find it interesting to see just how far we’ve come in terms of DNA evidence because I sure was! This book certainly gets on your nerves because of how LONG at took to capture this serial killer, but it sheds light on WHY finding him wasn’t easy. Through extensive research, amazing friends who completed this book for her, and so much more, this nonfiction is an absolute winner.
