This story was very different from what I expected. A much slower paced story, with less focus on the investigation than I expected. But I really liked Lady Helena, and enjoyed spending time immersed in her life, her process of grieving and finding a way forward after the death of her husband.
A fascinating collection of characters, some of whom I didn't like much, but all of whom were distinct and complex, adding depth to the story.
