Holy crap this book is so good, I didn't want to put it down. Sam and Penny vibrate on the same level of weird in a way that is just perfect, and I love that we're catching both in healing media res. Both have their own traumas to work through and Sam is just starting to really cope, whereas Penny is sort of caught in a particular stage of coping. Their initial moment of connection and Penny's luck in catching Sam in a low moment lets them ignite this beautiful spark not of romance, but of emotional need. They both need someone to talk to and process with and find that perfectly in each other. I loved it.
