An anthology of SFFF diverse YA short stories by well-loved authors? Don’t say more, I’m in. But maybe you need more reasons to commit? In this collection you’ll find a wide range of genres and mostly a whole lot of transgression. Teenagers being teenagers, defying rules imposed on them by society, gender expectations or magic. A thief harvesting power for the biggest wish that has ever been wished, contestants choosing each other rather than the prize, a trans retelling of Cinderella, a botanist desperate to preserve ancestral knowledge, more thiefs, more dreams, more wishes , and a few heartbreaks for good measure . I genuinely enjoyed every story of this anthology. Some more than others, of course, but they all had much to love, and they are absolutely fueling my desire to get back to the writing board.
Rep: a bunch of queer (mostly gay & trans) and diverse (mostly brown & black) characters.
