Polysecure: Attachment, Trauma and Consensual Nonmonogamy by Jessica Fern

emotional hopeful informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

This is the best explanation, extension, and application of relationship attachment theory I've read. It's concise yet approachable, wide ranging yet well organized, and above all: useful.

Fern recommends we designate specific partners (with their consent) with whom to practice secure attachment; while I agree we should be deliberate (and explicit), I find the principles of such general utility as to apply to all types of relationships—not only romantic ones. Therefore, I recommend everyone read this book, including the monogamous and aromantic.
