I had to read both an old translation and this translation for my British Literature class. When I first heard he won a Nobel prize for this, I thought it was crazy; how can you win a Nobel prize just for translating something that’s already been translated? Then I read it. This one is AMAZING. I can’t believe he made Beowulf legible. I’ll never read this again but thank you Seamus I admit you deserved that prize.
