feralshojo 's review for:
Into This River I Drown
by TJ Klune
I admit, I only skimmed the last third.
The cover and title seemed so beautiful and drew me to the book, but it turned into a good example of "don't judge a book by its cover".
In the end, I felt it was too long, boring and repetitive. I didn't like the writing style at all, it read like an elevated fanfic.
The characters were flat and one-dimensional.
All the religious gibberish didn't help.
It was probably a bad choice for a first read from this author, considering he's quite beloved by readers.
I'll read more from the author in hopes I like his other works better.
