The Raven Wheel by A.F. Stone

This book contains details of violence, mental health, s*icide, drug and substance abuse, s*xual assault/r*pe, as well as gore-y details.
If at all a sensitive reader, this book isn't for you.

This book was dark, compelling but really emotional. Through her characters, Stone expresses how different people deal with either the trauma they face now or the trauma that they faced in their past that still affects them to date.

I also love how diverse this book was, featuring POC and LGBTQ+ reps without making a fuss over either and writing them as normal human beings.

The three central characters, Ria (Ariadne), Kian and Tye, each have their own traumas and life experiences. Their lives intertwine with each other and each try to be strong in their own way. I was really able to connect to these characters and feel their pain. All three have been dragged through life but yet, they're dealing with it the best they can and that's admirable. I really felt for them as though I knew them. As though I were really close to them.

I, as the reader, was able to get into the heads of these young adults and try to understand what was goung through their minds. Honestly, these characters were so strong, even if they didn't realise that themselves.

Through her debut novel, Stone has really covered many sensitive topics without overwhelming the reader. Stone is a talented author and I really look forward to reading more of her work. This book was emotional alright, but it is also important, so important. I definitely believe more people should read this book and give it a go.
