I really hated this book. I made the effort of finishing it because it was very popular and I believed it had to get better. I did not. The writing is not great, it’s very simple and any attempt at foreshadowing is badly done, you can guess it’s foreshadowing the moment you read it. The main relationship is not very interesting, it’s essentially based on a lie and a kidnapping. The world could’ve been interesting, but it was not consistent. The world is first described as very dark and humans being very weak compared to fairies. Entire villages are being murdered in a night, but this starving average girl can somehow defend herself and survive this world all alone, when entire villages and families couldn’t. Honestly one of the worst book I’ve read in my life.  <at some point she’s drugged by force every night for almost two months and forced to do degrading things she normally wouldn’t do if not drugged. The character who forces her is later revealed to be “on the right side” and he was trying not to be suspicious to the villain, but that’s just a bad plot point in my opinion>
