Legendborn

I loved the premise of this book. Bree is trying to find answers about her mothers death and is involved in a secret Order of the Round Table society to get them. She’s also 16 and in an early college program, because obviously. And there’s a hot guy who’s going to become king Arthur. Also the commentary on race and racial history and discrimination in college and secret societies and more was very well done for this fantasy book. What’s not to love?
Yes, Bree’s teenage angst was sometimes annoying but she’s 16 and grieving. Yes, it was so hard to keep track of all the people and new terms and who’s ranked what. But it was fine.
I didn’t live the cliffhanger. I did enjoy some of the plot twists but overall I struggled a bit with the last 30%. I am definitely a romance girl, so YA fantasy bringing back the love triangle and non-HEA cliffhanger ending wasn’t my fave.
