I absolutely adored the first half, but as midway hit Grady really flattened the characters, and twisted the narrative in such an unexpected way that didn’t make sense. Normally I’d say yes, as I love a good twist even when it’s predictable. But when it’s a twist that literally doesn’t make sense for any of the characters, it becomes muddled and confusing that counteracts with character motivations. It became clear in the second half that it was a group of woman written by a man.
