I had a free day and a bottle of wine and figured it would be a great use of time to tuck in with this book for a marathon reading session. It was exactly what I needed, even if I didn’t like these characters and plot as much as the first one. My main bone to pick is how there are some throw away mentions of the MMC having depression and middle child syndrome, but we don’t actually see him work through any of that. I’m all here for a character who has done the mental health work and is thriving, but make that more a part of the plot. I liked the main MMC, but he could have been a deeper character as at times he just felt like a steady foil to the flighty FMC. All that aside, this is still a cute read, and I look forward to the next book.
