I finally got around to listening to this book after putting it off and putting it off. I have seen Lindy West be a guest on several shows, and absolutely adored the Hulu show created on the basis of this book. I loved this book cover to cover, part social commentary on suxh things as why rape jokes aren't funny, abortions are nobody's business, and fat people deserve to live normal lives too. There were also stories from West's life, upbringing and experiences. This book made me laugh heartily but also tear up at times. The content was relatable and when it wasn't I still felt like West succeeded at helping me understand why it was important and worth critical analysis. West is a gifted writer who can balance humor and satire with sternness and rage in such an eloquent manner as to keep the reader engaged. I recommend listening to the audio because West narrates it herself.
Moderate: Body shaming, Bullying, Rape, Misogyny, and Fatphobia
Minor: Abortion and Body shaming
