I wanted to love this, but it was just ok for me. It never really drew me in, and I didn’t feel connected to the characters so I found myself skimming a lot. The premise was interesting, and the magic system was neat, but it was also not explained very well so I’m still not entirely sure what a Guardienne is actually capable of. Overall it was worth reading, but I don’t have a current interest in reading the next book in the series.
