Fall With Me by Brooke Montgomery
4.75

Let me be real—this series and I are in a toxic relationship. We started off strong, had a good thing going, and then somewhere around book two... it all started spiraling. And yet, here I am again, emotionally invested and mildly yelling at fictional characters like they’re my actual friends.

Fall With Me
is the chaos I didn’t know I wanted and everything I didn’t know I needed—until it hit me square in the chest with cowboy charm and unexpected tenderness.

🐎 Our Leading Lady... Girl, Please.

Ellie, Ellie, Ellie. You took pills from someone before a race? You trusted Angela (you know—the cousin who literally pushed someone off a cliff)? You blamed Landen for something and spent most of the book resenting him without ever telling him why?

Ma’am. Please.

Then she falls off a horse, gets amnesia (yes, really), and suddenly Landen’s looking like the best thing that ever happened to her. It’s giving trauma-to-love-pipeline, and while I rolled my eyes more than once, I also kept flipping the pages. Because...

🧡 Landen. Sweet, swoony, soft-on-the-inside Landen.

He’s everything I love in a small-town cowboy:

  • Broody? ✔️

  • Loyal? ✔️

  • Whispers sweet nothings in French? ✔️✔️✔️

Landen falls hard and early, and he never once gives up—despite Ellie icing him out like it’s her full-time job. Watching him care for her (especially post-accident) melted me. He’s the reason this book worked. Without him, it’s a 2-star ride into frustration.

Also, the hat scene. If you know, you know. Cowboy sensuality at its finest.

🔥 Tropes Galore (and They Deliver)

  • Grumpy x Sunshine

  • Enemies to Lovers

  • He Falls First

  • Forced Proximity

  • Amnesia Romance

  • Small Town Cowboy Chaos

The tension? Real.
The chemistry? Slow burn but worth it.
The payoff? Could’ve come sooner, but hey, I’ll take it.

😬 What Didn’t Sit Right

  • Ellie’s decision-making.
Between poor choices and blind loyalty, she tested my patience. Repeatedly.

  • The pacing. We spend most of the book in a love-hate stalemate, and just when things get good—boom, it ends. Abruptly.

  • Series fatigue. I’m emotionally attached to this world, but I’m begging the women in these stories to make at least one sound decision.

Final Verdict

Do I have issues with this book? Yes.
Did I yell at Ellie more than once? Also yes.
Did I fall a little in love with Landen and highlight every flirty line? Absolutely.

Fall With Me
was frustrating, angsty, a little unhinged—and I devoured it anyway. If you're a fan of messy small-town drama, emotionally constipated cowboys, and love stories that shouldn’t work but do, give this one a shot.

Just maybe keep a stress ball nearby.
