My partner loves Anthony Bourdain so I read this to him while he’s injured. The premise of the story doesn’t make any sense, but this was honestly so cheesy that it doesn’t really matter. I forgot how much Bourdain disliked vegans/vegetarians, which my partner and I are, but all the characters and restaurants are basically culinary stereotypes so it’s just funny to read. Right from the beginning, a guy gets his head chopped off for eating sushi wrong.
The art style is interesting. I like that he highlights certain dishes which reminded me of Bourdain’s passion for food.
