I loved this book. What a beautiful, real, raw story about grief. Believable characters, profoundly sad and moving, a true testament of how even when someone is gone you never really truly lose them. Emma Grey wrote from such a vulnerable place and created these characters with such depth and emotion. I felt all the emotions with Kate, I think anyone who has loved and lost someone would resonate with this book. You cry with Kate, you laugh with Kate, and you grieve with Kate. This book will bring you to tears. It will break your heart and put it back together. The way that Emma Grey used her own experience to write this book really comes alive through the characters and pages. Her writing and storytelling was so powerful and inspiring. Grief is something that people feel they have to go through alone, and is often not talked about, but this book challenges that and tells us that when you’re grieving, you’re not alone. This will be in my top books this year.
