Funny Story by Emily Henry

4.0

Emily Henry's novel Funny Story is wonderfully written and has an engaging plot that keeps the reader hooked until the end. She does an excellent job of creating relatable, easily connected characters. Daphne is a lovable protagonist trying her best to make a life for herself, while Miles is a complex character dealing with his demons. One of the highlights of this book is the banter between the characters. The witty and funny comments of Ashleigh, Daphne's best friend, will make you laugh out loud. The librarian/read-a-thon side plot adds extra cuteness to the story. Emily Henry's skillful portrayal of her characters' feelings in a real and raw way is a true testament to her writing prowess. As you follow Daphne and Miles on their emotional journey, you'll find yourself deeply invested in their story, rooting for them as they navigate their emotions and try to make sense of them. While it may be categorized as a romance novel, 'Funny Story' is much more than that. It's a powerful narrative about self-discovery, self-worth, and the transformative power of love. Emily Henry's beautiful writing style and her ability to use love as a device that teaches us our worth, our strength, and our deservingness is truly inspiring.
