This is the first time I’ve read this author and when I selected it I was unaware it was part of a series. Characters from the previous books feature largely enough that I never really clarified where everyone belonged and found sections, particularly the beginning, confusing.  
My favourite character, by far, was Nic. I feel he was the more rounded character. I felt the ongoing insecurity shown by Natalie was handled well and realistically.  However, I could never completely warm to Finn. 
Overall, this was an ok read that suffered from some inconsistencies.
