Wow, absolutely brilliant. Totally gripping and gruesome. But it’s not just about the brutal and sadistic cat and mouse games that Hunter and Garcia get up to, it’s the grief and trauma that is always left behind after any sudden and horrific death. Carter gets everything just right, the horror, the devastation and utter hopelessness in the killings which have occurred and brought them to meet the victim. I have read all of the books and I feel for the characters especially Garcia and Hunter who have to see these scenes and try to make sure that they catch whoever is responsible before it’s too late, sometimes that just isn’t possible and you feel their guilt and sadness drench these pages. For me Chris Carter is at the height of his powers for writing a truly brilliant crime/thriller series I am hooked. I cannot highly recommend this series and book enough!!!
