The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

5.0

I technically read this series out of order but it's fine cause now I've read all of them and I'm so happy I did. Don't ask me which is my favorite cause I can't choose. But this one was phenomenal. This one had me so emotional. I adore Esme. She is an amazing woman and I loved reading her story. I loved how she demanded the best from everyone, including Khai and wouldn't settle for less. She knew her worth and never settled and I truly admire her for that. And I loved how it was completely her. Her story wasn't sugarcoated. The realities of being an immigrant were shown in this book and at times it was hard to read because Esme was clearly struggling, but it was real. It was true. And I'm so glad it was in this book. Also, in all of Helen Hoang's books one of the main characters is autistic and I love it. The romance genre is clearly lacking with having autistic characters, especially in women, and I am SO GLAD Helen Hoang is doing it. I absolutely cannot wait to see what else this brilliant woman is writing. I will buy it without reading the synopsis, I am so serious. (Side note: Quan is the sweetest man and I love him. I love that he played a big role in this book.)
