Decent story with typical Darynda Jones humor. The friendship between MC Defiance and her bf Annette was fun and light hearted, reminiscent of other characters she’s written previously. Overall I think this would be a great story line, full of everything I enjoy about her writing. However it fell a little flat here for me. The story was short and so obviously it was rushed. Every plot that was introduced was wrapped up in a couple of pages.
Roane seems fascinating and sexy and we all saw his “twist” coming from a mile away.
It would have been two stars if not for my love of Darynda and the laughs I got from the book.
