Unsurprisingly, One Last Stop is absolutely fantastic. I adored Casey McQuiston's first book Red, White & Royal Blue, so I naturally had to pick up this one the instant it was available to me. One Last Stop did not disappoint, and just like Red, White & Royal Blue, it was a very addictive read once I started getting into it. There are so many things to love in this book, and for the sake of avoiding an incoherent review here is a list of some of the things that make One Last Stop amazing:
- Found family!!!!
- Amazing romance
- Set in NYC
- Public transit meet-cute
- Heavily features NYC and LGBTQ+ history
- Hilarious banter
- Bi, lesbian, gay, trans, Black, Chinese-American and Peurto Rican rep in the main cast
- Time travel magic/magical realism
I loved this book so much, the characters are all amazing, I love them all so much, and the messages about finding your place and your people in the world feel like a warm hug presented in book form. Definitely one of my top reads this year!!
