There’s nothing of value I can add to accurately describe this book. It is extremely well-written - engaging, compelling, and absolutely critical. Where the media gives us biased, incomplete views of black communities and incidents of police violence, Thomas gives us a 3-dimensional portrayal of a vibrant, complex, resilient community. This book deserves all the praise and publicity and honors. And it needs to be read and shared over and over.
