I throughoughly enjoyed this book. I know the idea of a fae beauty and the beast retelling isn't anything new but I enjoyed the original way the concept was executed and the overarching background conflict. I enjoyed both characters and found their motivations believable and interesting. The reason I chose not to rate the book 5 stars is the pacing given the time it takes to get to the meat of the book (which I didn't mind) I felt the romance itself could have been slowed further (personal preference) and the end part of the book felt quite fast paced and a little rushed. The other minor issue was more editing wise like characters names being used in main character POVs before she knew them. Another tiny nitpick was
the use of the mirror. It felt too heavy handed on the beauty and the beast thing and really didn't end up being relevant to the plot
Overall I recommend this book and I will be reading the second.
