Really intrigued by the overall story, loved that more was revealed to us about the Atlantians and bloodlines. Love the progression of Poppy’s power and I’m curious to find out how that all develops, especially after that ending.
My biggest issue with this though is the pacing and writing. I felt very bored for the majority of this one, Poppy’s internal monologue about their relationship or her asking questions about it takes up a significant chunk of the book and a lot of it felt super repetitive. I wish there had been more emphasis on the plot since the world itself is super interesting! I felt like nothing really happened until the last few chapters, way too much time was spent on Poppy and Casteel “pretending” which I honestly found so cringe, and the majority of what we learn about this world is just through characters answering poppy’s questions.
