The Sea Witch: A Little Mermaid Retelling by Rebecca F. Kenney

4.5
This far exceeded my expectations for it. In addition to the funny, occasionally cute, and occasionally innuendo-filled lessons on human life a suddenly human mermaid needs, there was a shocking amount of treachery and intrigue. The dynamic between the sea witch and Avriel, with him teaching her everything she needs to know to win the prince, is a nice twist. If you read this and would like to have less spice, stop once you get to a happy end in the book. Plot-wise, that is the end and most of the spice occurs after that point.
