Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
Honestly I mostly didn't like the writing. "Latinx" remains a weird word, especially when I was reading about who actually uses it as I was petering out in this book.

The trans nature of the main character and how that affects their relationships beats you over the head so hard it becomes exhausting. I don't really need an exhaustive list of where each individual family member lies on the spectrum of comfort with trans identity, which it felt like I was getting at one point.

Really it's just too YA-y for my taste. Probably fine for people who read in that genre more often.
