Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

5.0

As I said in my email to Stephanie, "Heartwrenching. No, gutwrenching. Both, maybe. Wrenching all around, I suppose." This book is incredible, and has been the bane of my existence for the last several days. I have had school assignments spilling out of my ass, yet I was physically unable to put this book down for longer than a few hours, even if I could only read for a few minutes at a time. Truly engrossing, and extremely moving, and even funny at times. Beats the fuck out of "The Virgin Suicides", which I also loved. Good job, Mr. Eugenides.
