This collection of essays seemed to focus on fascinating stories about 60s Poland and offered up lyrical and deeply felt moments. Unfortunately, the overall style was very erratic and hard to follow. It might partly be the fault of the translation, but I effectively didn't know where I was in a story a lot of the time.
