I think this book is similar to Appointment with Death, in that virtually everyone involved is ghoulish in some fashion.  John, Gerda, Henrietta, Lucy and even Edward are all deeply unsettling, and Lucy reminds me somehow of Mrs. Boynton. That makes it a less enjoyable read than some of Christie's other novels, but it's interesting to watch how the characters and their actions unfold. Personally, I thought the ending was a bit disappointing, but maybe that's just because I had a character I particularly disliked that I had hoped was the killer instead.
