The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins
2.0

I need to start accepting that I am not impressed by thrillers. It feels like watching reality TV- entertaining, because someone is bound to do something ridiculous, and a good pallet cleanser that focuses on plot and drama with less emphasis on character depth. Not every thriller is like this- but majority of the ones I have read are. I doubt I’ll stop reading them altogether, but I still haven’t found many that simultaneously thrill me and make me care about the characters.
This book was a bit ridiculous and not very thrilling at all, even during the twists and climax of the book! The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the ending was satisfying and made me wonder.
I listened on audio and the narration was mediocre. I didn’t love the fake southern accents.
